Adorable, but I am biased as I grew up visiting grandparents there. I envision it getting boring after 4 years, but LA isn't too far away and Mudd students seem to spend a lot of time on homework

Nice town although small. Tree lined streets. Transportation into LA proper available.

Claremont is a very pleasant suburb that's somewhat far, but also reasonably close (1-2 hr drive) to California's beaches, ski resorts, and amusement parks.

Quiet college town, with some decent restaurants and coffee houses.
