Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - The information sesh was pretty much the same as any other college visit...you could glean the same facts from any brochure/college website.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Gorgeous campus with beautiful Georgian architecture. My tour guide was funny and very nice. The only con was that it was the middle of the summer and the campus was full of high school students.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
3 - Good
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
The campus is absolutely pristine. There were no brown patches on the grass and all the buildings seemed to be in impeccable shape.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Dormitories:
Didn't see the dorms.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
They have the blue lights, and these special motion sensor cameras that detect physical violence...pretty cool!
Overall Campus Impression:
4 - Very Good
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
3 - Good
There's a nice area, and a kind of rough area, surrounding Hopkins. It just depends which way you go!
City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good
Baltimore can be a very pretty old town, but it isn't as fun a city as, say, NY or Chicago. I did spy some cute restaurants and shops around, though.
Campus Visit Notes for Johns Hopkins University
Visit Description:
Well, my dad almost played football for Hopkins and one of his best friends from high school did, so he was really hoping I'd take the tour. I went with my cousin on a (very!) hot summer day. Our tour guide was very nice and did a great job with explaining everything on the tour. Something I thought was kind of interesting was the $40 all-year yoga pass and the fact that Hopkins moved homecoming up to spring to coincide with lacrosse season. Only in Maryland...
The campus was very pretty in the summer, and all the architecture melded well together. I also heard that the campus food is pretty damn good. The only qualms I had about Hopkins were how cutthroat the academics are there (especially in the biomed engineering / premed areas), the only social scene exists within the Greek system, and how unfriendly I've heard some of the students can be.
