Campus Visit Notes for Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Visit Description:
This visit was very important for me to decide which admission choices I wanted to pursue aggresively ( I have been admitted EA to both Caltech and MIT and currently-at time of this post- have likely letters from Duke and Stanford).
I needed to know if MIT was as warm and lovable place as it appears
in all these posts by mollie/lauren and the blogs. Suffice to say they are not exaggerating! I met so many different types of pople the only common point seemed to be their intellectual drive fueled by curiosity and a readiness to soak up stuff.
If you have been admitted, I highly recommend the overnight visit. If not, I would caution you against it. The simple reason being if you fall in love you are bound to get hurt in case you do not get in. The chances are indeed high that you will fall head over heels in love with this place, its history and its people.
