Visit Activities:
Campus Tour:
Yes - Campus tour was superficial and concentrated mainly on "hacks." We also took a tour of the EE-CS department that was excellent.
Classroom Visit:
Yes - Student attended Math for CS class. Technology and presentation was good.
Campus:

Nobody approached us but students my daughter already knew from math camp were very friendly.

People we approached with questions were helpful.
Appearance of Campus:

Modern architecture takes some getting used to. Buildings seemed to create lots of wind in certain areas.

Very open but felt safe. Staff remarked that theft was the biggest problem.

Easy to walk to lots of shopping and restaurants. Location on river very scenic.

Loved Boston.
Campus Visit Notes for Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Visit Description:
Tour of EE-CS department also included a long Q&A with the dept. administrator. This was very helpful and interesting. There is information about the tour on the MIT website.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
Stayed at Holiday Inn Express Cambridge. Very nice hotel near train station.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Ate in MIT student center. Wide variety of food. My daughter ate dinner with friends at a frat house and said the food was good.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Arrived on the T at Kendall station. Very convenient.
