Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - The counselor was very friendly and informative but an unexpected firedrill ended up cutting the session short.
Campus Tour:
Yes - The tour guide was very personable. We saw a dorm, silver center, the library. She even showed me the nursing building after the tour was over, it was great.
Classroom Visit:
Yes - We didn't see an actual class in session but we visited a lecture hall.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good
The tour guides introduced themselves before we broke off in groups. They were all really cool. Other students were polite.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
4 - Very Good
Appearance of Campus:
4 - Very Good
There was a little construction going on in the park but overall it looked pretty nice, surprisingly quaint for being in the middle of the city.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Every building we saw was very clean and orderly. The ones we saw were also fairly new and modern. Everything looked pretty nice.
Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
Much better than I have seen at other colleges. The ceilings were really high in Goddard plus private bathrooms!
Security/Safety:
4 - Very Good
There was security within the entrance of every building. I didn't see any outside the buildings though.
Overall Campus Impression:
4 - Very Good
I really enjoyed the campus and the flair of Greenwich Village. With all the students it seems like a really cool place to be.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
It's New York City, that's pretty self explanatory. Greenwich village is pretty laidback and a lot of it is residential so it was quiter than the more touristy areas of the city.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
Once again, the opportunities are endless in New York.
Campus Visit Notes for New York University
Visit Description:
Overall the visit was great, even though the information session was cut short by a fire drill. The tour guide was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had that hadn't been answered or didn't have a chance to arise in the info session. The visit made me really excited about the college process which I'm just starting and I think gave me a pretty good impression of NYU and what it would be like to be a student there. It was a very nice day.
