Some people mentioned a strained relationship between the University and the town, but I haven't noticed this at all. People who drive by Sheridan Ave. seem just in awe of NU students, no joke. |

I don't think nortwestern could have a more supreme location. It is not in the heart of chicago(thats bad), yet is only a short 20 minute bus ride away. Once again, the lake is awsome. |

I myself am not too keen on the Midwestern vibe (sorry, I'm from San Fran and it's just so different) but I can see it being a very nice environment for people who don't have that probl |

Evanston is a pretty town, but busy. There is pretty much nowhere to park, even on side streets it is only 2 hour parking. We ended up parking in a garage. |

Being from a southern suburb of Chicago, Evanston/Skokie was nice but not as nice as I expected. It had a college town vibe but still very...not? |

While Evanston was really neat, nearby Skokie was downright desolate. The north side of Chicago is considerably nicer than other parts, however. |

Evanston is great - beautiful and the residents are very nice and friendly - you can tell that they like having the university in town, that there's not a rift between the school and the resident |

Again, spent most of my time on campus... Chicago is an amazing city and speaks for itself. Great sports, great shopping...etc etc. |

As quoted before, Evanston is avant-garde, amazing, and for food lovers (like me), oh my goshhh..you could go crazy and never starve. DESPITE the unbelievably frigid temps, the food is yum! |

Coffee shops, boutiques, great record stores, a giant cineplex--Evanston has so much to offer. If you get bored there, just hope on the L into Chicago! |

Northwestern is about 20-30 minutes outside Chicago which is pretty cool. |

Town-gown relations strained due to Northwestern's tax-free status, but most of the people I saw on the street welcomed me to Evanston (while I was decked out in NU apparel). |
