We drove. We live ~1 hour away and it took us 2 hours...love Chicago traffic. |

We didn't ride the El, since we rented a car. Parking wasn't difficult at all for us. Depends where you go though. The lake(fill) lives up to its image as being pretty awesome. |

Parking stinks. no doubt about it. parking is free if you can find it (what my host said) and he had a car but told me it wasnt a necessity at all. evanston is a nice place esp. downtown. |

Never used the El to get into Chicago, but the drive to and from both the Loop and O'Hare was easy and well marked. |
