Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
Current Penn State Musical Theatre students intermingled with the visitors, introduced themselves, and offered to answer any questions about the program. Extremely impressed with the maturity, articulation and helpfulness of this group of kids.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
The campus was beautiful. The buildings were much newer and far more contemporary design than I had expected from an older institution. The campus also seems very compact for such a large school making most destinations easily within walking distance.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
Immaculate comes to mind.
Security/Safety:
4 - Very Good
Didn't seem to be an issue. We walked to Playhouse Theatre after dark on Sat. night, and we met both young families and older couples out enjoying the beautiful autumn weather.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
Excellent.......nuf sed.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
Looked clean and inviting. Far more wholesome then that of another "large university" with which we're very familiar.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
I'd say that State College is relatively rural for a college town, but it seems to contain all the amenities. From what we saw it appears to be a clean, thriving and respectful community.
Campus Visit Notes for Penn State University Park

My daughter and I were at Penn State for its Musical Theatre Orientation Day and for my daughter's audition into their BFA Musical Theatre program. So our exposure was mainly to this program. We both enjoyed our visit immensely and were extremely impressed with the University and the Musical Theatre program.
