Pomona college is not in the middle of nowhere. The campus is adjacent to a fair sized villiage with a metro station. Dorms had security cards, there were blue posts, and I noticed security people.

I felt pretty safe at Pomona. There are the emergency blue posts where needed, and security drives around in a golf cart.

Campus and surrounding area seems to be very safe, and the college seems to be very aware of safety issues.

Due to college's suburban location, this did not seem to be a problem at all.
