Visit to Princeton University in October 2006 by sportsharks (Student, HS Class of 2008)
Visit Activities:
Campus Tour:
Yes - The tour was good. It gave a rough overview of the campus and the background of alot of the buildings. Wasn't all-inclusive, but visited most of the campus and gave me alot of information.
Princeton University Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 2 - Fair -
Everyone seemed to be going about there business. While no one was mean, no one was nice, or seemed to be having fun. They were just there.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 4 - Very Good -
Everyone I interacted with from the lady in the bookstore to the guy at the coffee shop was polite and very friendly.
Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent -
Pristine. It is everything a campus should be. I visited in the autumn when the leaves were falling and its beauty was simply breathtaking. You feel like you are a part of history inside it.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent -
Once again amazing. Princeton is definitely one of the nicest campus I have been to.
Dormitories: 4 - Very Good -
The one we went into was nice (cool fact: it was used for the scene in A Mueatiful Mind when the professors gave up their pens), but had signs of age. The guide said they renovate one dorm per year.
Security/Safety: 5 - Excellent -
Uses the blue light system. The tour guide said everywhere around you can see two lights at all times. They also have patrols. I dont think I would ever feel threatened there anyway, though.
Overall Campus Impression: 5 - Excellent -
Great. The campus was amazing and really left that awed feeling in me. The only turnoff was the lack of excitement among the students.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus: 4 - Very Good -
Princeton is right in the hear of the hip town with the same name. They are intertwined essentially.
City/Town/Community: -
Good. Princeton is a cool town with some swanky little shops and stores. If you don't find what you want there, everything is within and hour and a half (NYC, Philly, Six Flags, Beach, etc.)
