Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - Very personable member of adcom! Spoke a lot, gave a lot of insight, and yeah, I really liked him. Didn't even get bored, there's a thought for you.
Campus Tour:
Yes - Eh. It was so long. And so much walking.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
2 - Fair
Mehmehmeh. Only student met was tour guide, and she was a senior who, while being a good speaker, didn't seem all too approachable.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
4 - Very Good
Based on adcom member, great!
Appearance of Campus:
4 - Very Good
I don't know. Pros: gorgeous buildings, plants EVERYWHERE yay, pretty church. Cons: SO HUGE AND SPREAD OUT, so much walking, construction going on ahaha.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
I don't think we went inside that many buildings, but it seemed fine to me.
Dormitories:
2 - Fair
Well, all we saw of the dorms was this line of houses that were apparently dorms, which I didn't really like because they looked like houses, not actual dorms.
Security/Safety:
3 - Good
I mean, it's Stanford, so I'm sure they take care of their students, but it didn't feel very homey because of how spread-out it was and thus it didn't feel as safe as, say, Pomona
Overall Campus Impression:
3 - Good
I supposssee. *stubborn*
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
3 - Good
Pretty, but what the hell? You have to drive through trees for 5 minutes to get inside.
City/Town/Community:
5 - Excellent
I kind of love Palo Alto.
Campus Visit Notes for Stanford University
Visit Description:
I tried so hard to hate it and I kind of succeeded as to the campus, but everything else? Not so much.
