Campus Visit Notes for Tufts University
Visit Description:
I visited Tufts twice, once in November of 2005 and once in April of 2007. I was really impressed by Tufts the first time. My tour guide was really active in the Tufts community and the admissions officer at the info session had a great pitch. When I visited a second time and got to know more students, I grew less impressed. Tufts seemed like a school with lots of exciting extra-curricular opportunities, but was not as intellectual as I would have liked. I also thought that the "Save the world" message did not spread to the entire student body. Many of them weren't very motivated.
Additional note: I've heard that the Tufts experience varies from program to program. IR majors are apparently super intense.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Amtrak is really easy to use. When you get off your train, you can just take the Red Line to Tufts.
