Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - The information session was great- the most unique one I've been to out of all my college tours. Really emphasized the "active citizenship" and worldliness that Tufts so values in its students. Great opportunities for study abroad (anyone n

Campus Tour: No - Very nice students. I've been on a campus tour twice- once in fall of last year and once for their spring accepted students days- and both times the guides were very down-to-earth and personable. They seemed happy to be at Tufts despite the rumors th

Classroom Visit: No - Well, for accepted students days I visited the class of a philosophy class. Other people seemed to enjoy it, but I thought it was awful. The professor wasn't that great. Then again, I've never heard raving about the Tufts philosophy program. I h

Everyone seemed nice and friendly, if not the most outgoing. I remember at lunch in one of the dining halls (good food, by the way!), a pre-vet girl just sat down next to us and started talking to us. She was awesome, smart and very down-to-earth. She was

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

From what I experienced, the staff was nice, courteous and business-like. I tried to talk to one professor and he seemed disinterested. Who knows, though? It could have been his off day.

Absolutely GORGEOUS! With only the exception of Vassar, this is the most beautiful campus I've been to. Of course, I went in the fall and the spring, but the entire campus (and it's not too big) is gorgeous. I'm sure it gets cold, but I

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
Some buildings were very nice, some a little run down. Good on the whole, though.

Dormitories:

Pretty nice. The rooms seemed average-sized. nice lounges and facilities, and most of the dorms are very close to the academic buildings and the arts quad.

Security/Safety:

I'm sure it's fine, although I don't know much about the safety beyond the presence of the blue light system.

Overall Campus Impression:

Beautiful, quiet, homey, intelligent. For those who want noise, Boston's right in the backyard (about a 10-minute bus ride away, and the bus station's right nearby)! The best of both worlds, really.

Very nice. You don't have to go to Boston to have fun. There's a nice, relatively big town around Tufts. Very well-kept and very New England-y.

It's Boston. What else is there to say?

Campus Visit Notes for Tufts University

Visit Description:

It was a very nice visit. The students seemed nice and the academics speak for themselves. (Read: very good!) A great school. Again, I got a vibe of quiet, introverted, intelligent, and beautiful, and opportunities for clubs (if not sports) abound. A great choice for anyone.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

The dining hall food is, surprisingly, very good.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

All very convenient and easy. If the parking lot's not open, as I believe it wasn't during my first campus visit, try parking by the tennis courts on the way up the hill.
