Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - Very informative and worthwhile. I beleive the person who conducted the session was the Assistant Director of Admissions and he was great -- very engaging and entertaining.
Campus Tour:
Yes - We did not think that the campus was very attractive. it felt small with lots of buildings jammed in. The architecture is not at all cohesive.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
It was a freezing cold day, so we saw very few students.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
4 - Very Good
The people we met were nice, but, again, the opportunites were very limited.
Appearance of Campus:
2 - Fair
See above.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
3 - Good
One building they took us through had a major leak issue.
Dormitories:
I can't recall why, but they did not take us through any dorms. We saw them only from the outside. This was disappointing.
Security/Safety:
4 - Very Good
Overall Campus Impression:
3 - Good
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
3 - Good
The campus is surrounded by neighborhoods with smallish homes on small lots. It has a town feel. There is a neat shopping area not too far from campus with lots of shops and restaurants.
City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good
Great proximity to Boston.
Campus Visit Notes for Tufts University
Visit Description:
Overall, this was a good visit in that we realized that Tufts was not going to be a good fit for our son.
