Campus Visit Notes for Tufts University

Visit Description:

Our tour guide was a bit quirky, but so is the Tufts student body! The campus is extremely well-designed and beautiful, a strong contrast to MIT from the day before. Library was beautiful, food looked great.

Stopped off at the Hillel to talk to the staff there. It's a gorgeous building with a fountain outside, and it's extremely active. Almost 1/3 of the student body is Jewish, and about 50% of those are classified as "active" with the Hillel. They have activities all the time, and shabbat dinners attract over 100 students. There is at least 2 international trips every year, with 1 being a Birthright trip to Israel, and the other being a community-service trip either over spring break of during the summer. Staff were very nice.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Medford. Great proximity to campus, and a beautiful room with a large screen HD TV, and a complimentary continental breakfast that was very nice

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Ate at a cute Indian restaurant in Davis Square down the street from the big CVS that was delicious. I would suggest checking out Ms. Crepe, too.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

The T-stop is apparently a 15 minute walk, but there is also a shuttle that runs from the campus. Tour guide said he loved to go into Boston all the time.
