Visit Description:
We visited Tufts in November when the NJ schools were closed and the admissions offices of all the Boston schools were filled with NJ residents.
Tufts has a beautiful classic campus in a hilly area of Medford with views of Boston from the top of the library. The campus has big buckets of sand everywhere to help with the winter ice.
Tufts has a T stop to take students into Cambridge or Boston, but with so many activities on campus, it may not be necessary.
The information session gave tips on writing an essay to reveal your personality. Tufts, like many other selective schools, has too many qualified applicants. Tufts was founded by Unitarians and always accepted women, blacks and Jews.
Our tour guide was enthusiastic about the education and other opportunities at Tufts. Tufts students are guaranteed housing for 3 out of 4 years.
Tufts has a small Greek life community.
We visited the theater and learned about the many activities on campus.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
We stayed in Boston, since we were visiting three universities in two days.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Near the T stop. We parked at the Dowling parking garage.
