Campus Visit Notes for University of California, San Diego
Visit Description:
I was at first disappointed in the boring facade of the school. But once the tour started, the campus seemed to only get better. Surrounded by trees everywhere you go, and hills (sort of) and the beach not too far away, there is not much to necessarily complain about in that department.
The six college system may work for some, but not for others. To those unfamiliar with this, the 6 colleges are basically... different colleges with their own housing and facilities, but each has a different focus and GE reqs. One may be more focused on international affairs, while another may be community service. It depends on your personality as to what college you chose to live in.
The people seemed either friendly and open, or just closedminded and quiet. But of the large population, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a way to fit in or people you can like.
The area around it is great... the beach!
I believe it was worth the visit for me, being only a 2 hour drive, however, the simple walking guide only really gives you a Basic basic sense of the campus with mostly irrelevent (except the 6 college info) information
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
