Campus Visit Notes for University of Chicago:
Visit Description: I was planning on apply Early Decision at Barnard College, but after visiting Chicago, I am dead set on this school. Setting myself up for disappointment? You bet, but visiting this campus was the best thing I could have done in the application process. My cousin is a first year there, so I got to see inside one of the dorms (which are all radically different) and inside one of the dining halls. How beautiful! If anyone here has visited Swarthmore and seen its dining hall, I didn't think it could be beat. However, UChicago was incredibly impressive; the neo-gothic architecture is a wonder. Some of the students sitting around the quad seemed a little snooty, but the tour guides were bubbly and friendly. I spoke to a few students were filming a movie on the quad who were excited to talk to a prospective student, so there are certainly as many down to earth students as there are snobby ones.
