Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - I was very impressed with their information session. One of the admissions head talked to us about admissions process. She gave extremely helpful tips regarding applications.

Campus Tour: Yes - We didn't really enter any buildings, but the tour guide brought us to the famous places in campus (like the UF stadium). We had to run through the rain! (more on that later)

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
3 - Good
3 - Good
The students seemed nice, but they definitely were tying get on with their business and didn't stop for chats.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
The admissions officer who welcomed us was truly great. She was so informative and she knew how to get her message across.

Appearance of Campus:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
The campus was appealing, although it rained like crazy. All my friends were saying that it needed to have more trees. It was enormous but centralized.

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
3 - Good
3 - Good
The welcome building/center was modern, but the other buildings could have looked newer and cleaner. I guess that was just because there way too many students to really keep them super clean.

Dormitories:
They didn't really showed us one, but we passed by some residence halls/ buildings. I liked the ones we saw because they looked very old-fashioned/classic.

Security/Safety:
3 - Good
3 - Good
The campus was very centralized and I really didn't see any non-UF people there. I didn't really see any security guards, though.

Overall Campus Impression:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
I liked it because it was such a typical, movie-ish college.

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
2 - Fair
2 - Fair
There are hundreds of college and sorority/fraternity apartments around the campus and there were many restaurants on campus.

City/Town/Community:
1 - Poor
1 - Poor
Gainesville is literally centered around UF, and there is seriously nothing else there!

Campus Visit Notes for University of Florida

Visit Description:

Regarding the tours, the tour guide had us run through a torrential thunderstorm just so we could see the famous stadium. That part wasn't fun, but he was really good and friendly.
