Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - Very helpful. The lady from admissions answered all questions very well.
Campus Tour:
Yes - One of the highlights of my visit. Our tour guide was informative, funny and had some really good stories to tell.
Classroom Visit:
Yes - I was matched with a day host who had a major completely different from my interests, and a majority of the classes were over my head.
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
4 - Very Good
The students were very nice and helpful when I had questions, but did not go out of the way to strike up a conversation once I told them I was visiting.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
VERY impressive. All of the staff members were extremely courteous and helpful.
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
Gorgeous campus, what can I say? The performing arts center and science buildings are INCREDIBLE. A vast majority of the buildings were very nice.
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
No troubles here.
Dormitories:
Did not get to see the dorms.
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
Campus police were around, but overall the campus felt very safe.
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
Really, really impressive. Everything was at least "above average." The performing arts center was the clincher for me.
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
4 - Very Good
With the campus being as great as it is, the surrounding area is less of a factor. There were places to eat (Chili's, TGI Friday's, Cold Stone Creamery), and even a Barnes and Noble and Borders. Did not see the residential area around town.
City/Town/Community:

Campus Visit Notes for University of Notre Dame
Visit Description:
My experience at Notre Dame was excellent. About my only regret was that my day host was not a better match, but he still did a good job. The students he was friends with were inclusive when I ate with them at lunch.
The South Dining Hall is really good for college food. Huge variety, and the dining hall itself is staggeringly huge and nice.
Our tour guide basically summed up the student body: confident and knowledgable. He knew a lot about the university for being only a sophomore, and like many of the students, had a good sense of humor.
The weather was nice for November, but still very cold, and a little bit of an uncomfortable walk when the wind was blowing.
The bookstore really is like a Nordstrom's... almost to the point of being overdone, but not quite. That said, there is a ton of cool stuff there.
Overall, the visit left me "sold" on Notre Dame, and I would definitely reccomend the university.
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
We were fortunate enough to stay at the Morris Inn, which was a great experience. The rooms were nice, and the hotel's dining was very good.
