It seemed to me like the existence of Notre Dame perpetuates the existence of South Bend. That being said, it isn't a terrible city, just perhaps a little boring. Notre Dame is much more thriving [View Full Report] |

It's pretty rural/suburban right around campus; it would be a lot of fun to go on a bike ride around the Notre Dame area, seeing the lakes and some houses and the quaintness of the overall settin [View Full Report] |

With the campus being as great as it is, the surrounding area is less of a factor. There were places to eat (Chili's, TGI Friday's, Cold Stone Creamery), and even a Barnes and Noble and Borders. Did not see the residential area around town. [View Full Report] |

We did not get to downtown South Bend. Spent hours along Grape / Main street where all the new stores and malls are trying to buy dorm items. Guess we were in the newer area. [View Full Report] |
