Visit to University of Pennsylvania in March 2008 by AMuri (Student, HS Class of 2008)
Visit Activities:
   Information Session: Yes - It was the Wharton information session. A freshman gave us a PowerPoint presentation and covered all the bases. Seemed to know what she was talking about. We signed in afterwards.
   Campus Tour: Yes - Huntsman Hall was beautiful; students were all around. We covered a pretty general area, got to see the Quad. The campus had a very city-like feel, as expected
University of Pennsylvania Campus:
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - Security and information desk staffers were all very helpful
   Appearance of Campus: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - More urban than I thought it would be, but certain areas were still traditional-looking. I liked the commercial-ish district
   Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - Huntsman Hall: the pinnacle of the visit. Everything was spotless.
   Security/Safety: 3 - Good 3 - Good - Some sketchy areas, although it was broad daylight and the place was teeming with people.
   Overall Campus Impression: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - Looks like a good place to live.
Off-Campus:
   Area Immediately Around Campus: 2 - Fair 2 - Fair - West Philly really is gritty.
   City/Town/Community: 3 - Good 3 - Good - Philly could use a little improvement.
Campus Visit Notes for University of Pennsylvania:
Visit Description: Dad managed to fall asleep in Huntsman Hall!

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): Parking was surprisingly easy to find.
