The area immediately around campus and all areas East of the campus remind you of how wonderful a city Philadelphia is! There are sketchy parts in West Philadelphia, but University City is amazing! |

There were museums, other colleges, stores, and other attractions either within walking distance of the campus or easily accessible by public transportation. |

its alright, on the news they talked about 10+ people getting shot in philadelphia (10 separate people) but there is security past campus grounds which is good |

Seemed pretty good for a big city, although the area degenerated rapidly if you walked in the wrong direction (which we did) |

The area around Penn is sort of run down, but the area to the West is really run down. It's not East Cleveland, but it looks like it could be bad. However, the area is very vibrant. |

Youre right next to Drexel and the off campus housing of both schools. Right in University City. |

Penn isn't located right in the city, and although there are a few things to do around the campus, it could get boring. |

There was a lot of selection of food and shopping around the campus. It was not the West Philly I was expecting, however I am sure the further west you go, the more sketch it is. |

The area immediately around Penn is gorgeous. I didn't see any traces of stereotypical West Philly. There are places to eat, great shopping, basically anything a college student could want. |

University city surrounds Penn and has undergone major gentrification, making it trendy, expensive, and highly developed. West Philly, about seven blocks from campus, is obviously less developed, but it also has its own charm and learning opportunities. |

Again, if you like the city life, go for it. I live in St. Louis, so I can definitely get used to it. There's a lot of energy surrounding the campus, and there are many opportunities for outings. |
