Campus Visit Notes for Ursinus College

Visit Description:

The interview is what turned me off the most.. After seeing the campus, and meeting some kids i didn't know what to think. I saw a lot of things i liked, and a lot of things i didn't like. The interviewer asked me about all sorts of shit about this first year program they have, what a liberal arts school is (which is really just pointless), and a lot more outrageous stuff. He had me go in depth about the 3 main questions they ask at Ursinus for the first year program, and i felt as if he was seeing if the school's curriculum would be a fit for me, not if i would be a fit for the school. It was the only interview where the interviewer didn't try to get to know me and my personality. It was really an uncomfortable setting, and i was counting the seconds until he called my dad in the room. At this point, i thought he might try to be a little more friendly, but he just told my dad about what Ursinus has to offer in their curriculum. Besides asking me how my soccer season went, he was very boring and seemed to not give a crap about me. he didn't even try to talk about me.. just spoke about the school

Some of the students who i met seemed really nice and very into the school, but those who i just saw walking around looked upset. I saw a girl crying, a bunch of gothic kids smoking.

Overall, i don't think many people who are at Ursinus really want to be at Ursinus. It's not a bad school, but it just seemed like people were really down on things. The interview was honestly the worst aspect i have experienced at any college.
