Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - They were very informative on the entire admissions process and on life at Vanderbilt. Campus Tour:
Yes - A gorgeous campus! Classroom Visit:
Yes - An imtimate size for the classroom I got to see. I was very impressed.
Vanderbilt University Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 5 - Excellent -
I only got to meet the student tour guides as it was summer and school was not in session, but the guides were very helpful and nice.
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 5 - Excellent -
Equally as pleasant! I was very happy with the people overall.
Appearance of Campus: 5 - Excellent -
Absolutly gorgeous!
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent -
From what I saw it was very clean.
Dormitories: 4 - Very Good -
Small like any dormitory, but not torn apart. Also, on the plus side, they are building a lot for the incoming freshman starting next year as far as dorms go to make them all together.
Security/Safety: 5 - Excellent -
Even on the campus tour they talked a lot about this. Very, very safe.
Overall Campus Impression: 5 - Excellent
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus: 3 - Good -
Hard to get around because it's Nashville, and it can be a bit confusing, but overall very nice. There is a lot to do.
City/Town/Community: 4 - Very Good
Campus Visit Notes for Vanderbilt University:
Visit Description:
I might be a little biased as Vanderbilt is where I want to go, but the overall impresison and atmosphere was very impressive. I was actually surprised at just how nice it was and how helpful everyone was. I live close enough that I drove there, but they do have a Mariott practically across the street for those traveling from far away. I can't see anyone having a negative experience. In addition, they even thought ahead and gave everyone a list of suggestions for lunch etc. Everything was very well-organized and planned out. (I attended the PreVU Campus tour) Hopefully sometime soon I will be able to do an overnight stay and I will be sure to update when I do.
