Campus Visit Notes for Vanderbilt University:
Visit Description: As a Vandy alum, i had been trying to downplay going to Vandy, wanting my daughter to make up her own mind and not be influenced by me. She is only applying to schools in the south (we're from Central New York State). My daughter was absolutely blown away, the weather happened to be perfect, the campus was beautiful, the students apparently passed the attractiveness/appearence test. The Commons will be a great addition, super-nice. Rand dining hall-multiple food stations, a candy/sweets station nearby. The rec center/fitness was nicer than any we've seen. The students seemed happy and active

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments: Marriot-great choice, butts up against the campus, one block from the admissions . Happened to have a room with a view of the campus, directly overlooking the football field where practice was being h

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments: Ate dinner at PF Changs-fun, breakfest to Rotiers on Elliston Place-an institution. My daughter loves biscuits, so we walked down West End to some chicken place that had them

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): No need for car unless you want to tour the area.
