Admissions Interview:
No - Did meet w/computer science department advisor & son asked her a number of questions.
Information Session:
Yes - V-tech doesn't mandate essays in its applications. Also, there (supposedly) is no advantage to submitting your regular decision application early in the process. Speaker (young lady) very nice/ch
Campus Tour:
Yes - Very attractive campus. All stone buildings. Cafeteria very good (ranked #1 I think, in country).

Obviously, V-Tech is in response mode and is likely one of the safest campuses around, as a result.

Campus Visit Notes for Virginia Tech
Visit Description:
It is a lovely campus set in the rolling, green hills of Virginia. People very friendly and helpful, stone buildings remarkable attractive. Has a 'contained campus' feel to it.
Very sophisticated sports stadium. People are very much enamoured of V-Tech sports (Hokies). This could be fun, perhaps even if sports/sports watching is exactly your thing. Lots of school spirit.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Go to the cafeteria (where most students dine). Lots of things to chose from. Only $8 for visitors.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
Have a GPS, although V-tech is not hard to find.
Before going to tour/admissions--stop at Visitors' Center to get parking pass & check in & get map. Can call admissions for directions to
