Visit Activities:

Admissions Interview: Yes - Wasn't stressful at all. Just walked around campus, talked about why I wanted to go to the school, and what I did in high school.

Information Session: Yes - The session was informative. Nothing you couldn't get out of the website, though.

Campus Tour: Yes - Covered pretty much everything, except the fraternities. Went inside a dorm room, the gym, even a chem lab class.

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent

Friendliest people around! Seriously, everyone was smiling, happy, and jovial. I visited when it was pretty cold, and everyone still had a great demeanor.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
The staff were just as courteous as the students. The people who work there like to make friendly conversation, and get engaged in you, even if it's only for a minute or two.

Appearance of Campus:
4 - Very Good

I went when all the plants were dead, so I'm sure it can be prettier, but man the place looks great.

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
Everything was pretty much spotless. The Gothic architecture is great, everything seems to run smoothly.

Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
The facilities at dorms are great. Between the individual music rooms, lounges, plasma TV's, and laundry rooms in every dorm, the place has it all.

Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
There weren't very many blue lights, because the campus is very safe. Honor system works at this school. Saw people leaving their stuff and coming back twenty minutes later, without stress.

Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent

Amazing place to spend four years

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
3 - Good

Safe, residential suburb neighborhood. There could be more stores and shops around the campus, but the campus has so much already it's not very needed.

City/Town/Community:
3 - Good
3 - Good
Not a huge nightlife or attractions, but it's a good city to have a great university.

Campus Visit Notes for Washington University in St. Louis

Visit Description:

I did an information session, tour, and interview. Session was ok, not great. Tour guides were great, funny, and they were new to it. So much to see and do on campus. I was very blown away. I think my favorite line from the tour was "This is the Anheuser-Busch law building, bringing a whole new meaning to 'Passing the Bar exam'". Staff were friendly and helpful. And the food was great! Not your typical college food.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

The interstate is under construction, which is a real hassle.
