Visit to Washington University in St. Louis in April 2008 by iVinshe (Student, HS Class of 2008)
Visit Activities:
   Information Session: Yes - Pre-med information session. One of the 4 deans talked to a packed auditorium of several hundred students and parents (this was Multicultural Weekend). She was very very knowledgeable and informative.
   Classroom Visit: Yes - Nice, modern facilities. Attended an upper division bio course and a chem lab; both had ~30 students. Professors knew their subject thoroughly.
Washington University in St. Louis Campus:
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Students: 3 - Good 3 - Good - Students seemed to congregate in groups based on background. When randomly talking to people, I noticed that while they weren't unwelcoming, they weren't particularly open either.
   Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent - Excellent. All the staff seemed to go out of their way to help current and prospective students.
   Appearance of Campus: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - Lots of construction. Beautiful buildings. The same color scheme can get boring after a while.
   Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness: 5 - Excellent 5 - Excellent
   Dormitories: 3 - Good 3 - Good - Stayed in Park. Dorms were very nice; however, the elevator was unusable because someone had puked inside of it.
   Security/Safety: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good - Didn't see the emergency blue things that other universities had. One student warned me not to walk across campus at night due to safety issues, but walking around the dorms at 2 am seemed safe.
   Overall Campus Impression: 4 - Very Good 4 - Very Good

Campus Visit Notes for Washington University in St. Louis:
Visit Description: Made me move this school from my "Not going" list to my "Debatable" list.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments: Bear's Den.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): Metrolink has two stations at two corners of the school; Metrolink also has a station at Lambert-St. Louis International. According to an admissions official, it takes 20-30 min to get to the airport.
