Campus Visit Notes for Whitman College:
Visit Description: Whitman's campus is absolutely. beautiful. There's a mix of different kinds of buildings - older-looking, blocky/"a bit seventies", modern, lots of glass .... also, they are building a new fine arts building which is due to be finished in Fall 2008. There is a wonderful little creek running through campus with all kinds of sculptures and art in and around its borders. Good stuff.

The atmosphere in the classes I attended was really laid-back -- all (fifteen!) of us sat in a circle, professor included, to discuss the book they had read. It seemed like an environment which I could really picture myself in, and also like a place where a lot of learning got done while still having at least a tiny bit of fun.

Also, their radio station is awesome. Listen to it if you're visiting!

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments: Tip: it's hard to find places to eat dinner on Sundays!

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.): Walla Walla Symphony = A+
