Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Williams was very comprehensive. They were effective and communicating what prospective students would like to know. They also genuinely cared and offered to help even after the visit.

Campus Tour: Yes - The campus is beautiful! It is a nice size -not huge, but definitely not small.

Classroom Visit: Yes - The classes were amazing. I sat in on five classes, and all of them were interesting and well conducted classes. The discussions were both thoughtful AND thrilling. The professors were excellent.

Students were friendly overall, and students were respectful in the classes that I attended. If it looked like one was lost, a student would kindly ask if he or she needed help.

The campus is very safe! Most of the students and staff are laid-back and friendly, and there is an honor code, so one seems not to worry about his/her fellow student. Williamstown is small and safe.

Personally, I do not like small towns. It is a cute, small town, but it is not for me. I did not particularly like it, but I think the college itself almost compensates for it.

City/Town/Community:

3 - Good
If you don't like small towns, it might not be a great place to spend four years of your life, but I do think that it is worth it.

Campus Visit Notes for Williams College

Visit Description:

Williams College was extremely impressive, and after only a few hours, it was already my first choice college. It is a beautiful campus with a nice atmosphere. While it is in a very small town, it is a cute, quaint town that appears to be very safe. The students were all very helpful and friendly. Discussions in classes were thoughtful and interesting. The small class size in most of the classes led to increased comfort and interaction among the students. The professors helped to lead discussions, but let students interact amongst each other. Most of the students were involved in discussions without even being nudged into them. I was thrilled to meet students from countries around the world, including Bosnia, Ghana, and Australia. I really loved the visit, and it made Williams extremely appealing to me.
