Visit Activities:
Information Session:
Yes - the student was about as engaging and down to earth as they come, based on my experiences at other schools...
Classroom Visit:
Yes - I visited mostly philosophy classes (with my directed study hosts), so I wasn't personally that engaged
however the academic environment was extremely open and discussion based. everyone parti
Campus:
Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent
every single student I met was extremely friendly and helpful
Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:
5 - Excellent
I didn't have that much interaction with the staff, but there were certainly no complaints
Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
THE COLLEGIATE GOTHIC (or whatever that style of architecture is called...) IS GORGEOUS
YALE IS THE SINGLE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS I'VE ENCOUNTERED
Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
5 - Excellent
absolutely impeccable
Dormitories:
5 - Excellent
residential colleges are a fantastic system! and unlike certain other peer institutions that may be located in MA or NJ, there is a true sense of community centered around these residential colleges
Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent
despite being next to that fairly intimidating piece of urban blight called new haven, the security seemed real good. the students couldn't recall any incidents either...
Overall Campus Impression:
5 - Excellent
I love Yale
Off-Campus:
Area Immediately Around Campus:
2 - Fair
to be honest, there isn't that much to do in the neighborhood...
but Yale's campus activities makes up for the less-than-fascinating surroundings
City/Town/Community:
1 - Poor
New Haven is downright dingy
