Ooh fun! I had a great time looking at these galleries, they're great!

I'm not applying to art schools or as an art major, but I am hopefully submitting a supplement to my regular schools.
I've never been able to take an art class because I have a full schedule, so I'm hoping I'll be able to in college!

Here is my potential portfolio, a bunch of these things are still works-in-progress though
(oh and they are not even worth looking at unless you look at full size)

These portfolios are all fantastic. Puts my work to shame.

I'm applying to NYU (Tisch), University of the Arts London (Camberwell,) RISD, SAIC, Parsons, and Pratt for photography.

Only problem is I never had a chance to learn how to develop -- my school doesn't have a darkroom, and the nearest place to take classes is literally about fifty miles away. Does that matter? I've had some people say yes, others say no.

My portfolio so far:

It bothers me why the tips of swish’n swirl are not smoothed out. What tool did you use, or is it intentional?

Am currently a first year electric engineering student at UCLA. Based on what I have, what are/were my chances at art schools?

Can anyone critique my portfolio on photography?

I tried to mimick the format for "Feature Photography Section" of the Pulizter prize... (they have notes under the photographs)... don't know if it turned out well.

Flickr: aurorative's Photostream

I'm hoping to finish a couple more pieces for it, but this group is what I'll be taking to portfolio day this weekend. Will be applying to a few NYC schools (still deciding on which) as an illustration major.

I'm applying primarily as an Arch major, so i guess I'm kind of an odd one out. But on the other forum sections no one really knows anything about portfolios, which is what brought me here :P
Don't have it set up nicely in a flickr stream, but here's my deviant page

Here's my portfolio.

I don't think I'm applying to any art schools (haven't fully decided yet), but I am submitting this as a supplement to a few colleges.

Any thoughts or critiques? Anything would be helpful. I know that I don't have many observational pieces or figure drawings, and I'd like to know how negatively that impacts my overall portfolio.

yikes!
one or two is OK but all of these... I donno, schools are skeptical about accepting possible mental cases nowadays.
Throw in some snowflakes or tulips to balance them out.
It doesn't cut exactly Otto what-his name but just plain creepy.

Here's mine. toddstong on deviantART
I'm applying to Brown and sent in a bunch of supplements, one of them being art. But I'm not doing the Brown-RISD program. Too much money. I'll just double major in English and Art and take a few classes at RISD while I'm there - if I manage to get in.
