post50,

Welcome to the Musical Theater Forum on College Confidential. You will notice that I have moved your thread to our sub forum on Wagner College's MT program. I left a redirect on the main MT forum so you could find your way to this thread here. We have sub forums for quite a number of MT programs and so prefer to keep college specific threads in their own college forums so they can be found in an organized way. Now that I have moved your inquiry to the Wagner forum, hopefully you will find and read other discussion threads here on Wagner.

Further, I changed the name of your thread to reflect the topic as just using the college name isn't as helpful in knowing what the thread is about as we have many threads about a particular college.

Welcome again and I hope you find the information you seek. You may wish to ask more specific questions about a program as they usually solicit more responses over "what do you think of this college?"

Post50 - My DS and I visited Wagner last week - he completely fell in love with it. It's in a great location - both for proximity to NYC (It's a short, free ferry-ride from Manhattan) and having a slightly quieter immediate neighborhood to eliminate distractions during when studying - and the views from much of the campus buildings are amazing.

The people from the theatre department we spoke with were just terrific and very knowledgeable. The physical space was nice - DS is also a sound engineer and had a chance to look at their tech booth.

The theatre students we spoke with really seemed to love the program and the campus and were really connected to the staff - which as a mom from Calif, I liked seeing.

Honors student housing is open to students with 3.5 gpa's and above, and our guide said that it was primarily theatre students. The dorm building we looked at was an older college dorm, but nice enough and had an amazing view.

I'm really hoping DS is accepted and that we can work out the financing. It's a great place for him to grow as an actor as well as keep up his sound engineering skills. (He's currently part of the sound team at our church and knows several different boards including some of the newest digital systems where he's the trainer for the other men.)

Don't know if any of this helps, but there ya go.
