Academics and Theatre at Wagner

Hi Everybody!

I'm a soon-to-be-senior (in 3 days!!) and I was wondering if you could give me some info!

Wagner College was just put at the top of my list of prospective colleges!!

What do you need academically to get into Wagner? I have a 3.8 GPA and I got a 30 on my ACT--is this good enough?

And what is the accpetance rate in the theatre school?

I'll be visting the school in July when I'm in NY visiting family!

Also any other info that might be helpful in this process would be helpful!

Thanks a lot!

Hi Dillibird-
I'm just like you! I'm gonna be a senior, and wagner is my number one choice! With your scores you'll probably get into schools, those are really great scores!!! The theatre part is a little more competitive, I read somewhere that hundreds audition for twenty spots? I'm not sure though. Good luck, maybe I'll see you there next year!

Your GPA and test scores should make you a sure admit at Wagner. We had three kids at our local high school apply this year with substantially lower GPAs and test scores -- and they did not necessarily take the most rigorous HS workload -- and they were all admitted. None made the cut during auditions, however.

My daughter is a soon-to-be freshman for Theatre performance. She has a 3.5 GPA and scored 1650 on her SATs. Wagner is one of the schools that invites you to audition if you meet their academic requirements which shouldn't be a problem for you. If I remember correctly, they accepted 36 students for the class of 2013. i think they had about 400-500 students audition which is less than a lot of schools. Good luck!
