| On behalf of D: Decision: Waitlisted Stats:- SAT I: 2230 one sitting
- SAT IIs: 800 US History, also took SAT II's in Spanish and Math but don't have scores right now (not as good as USH)
- AP's: USH 5, Econ 4
- GPA: 3.8 UW
- Rank: not ranked
Subjective:- Teacher/Counselor Recs: should have been great
- State or Country: MA
- School Type: competitive public
- Ethnicity: caucasian
- Gender: female
- Why you think you were waitlisted: No idea, we even visited. Maybe because she didn't apply for the scholarships they didn't think she was serious about Washington and Lee?
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: This is D's 3rd waitlist from a school we believed to be a match. Not sure the sorority life was for her anyway, and Lexington is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so not too heartbreaking.... |

SAT I: 760CR/760W/640M : 2160 (I know my math is low, but I have A's in my math classes plus Calc II/Stats this year and a 34 on ACT math...so idk )
SAT IIs: 720-Math 730-U.S.History 710-Literature
ACT: 32
AP's: American History-5, English Language-5, Calculus-4

Rank: top 10%
Subjective:
Teacher/Counselor Recs: stellar
Essay: Creative?
State or Country: OH
School Type: private catholic (though I'm not)
Ethnicity: caucasian
Gender: female
intended major: (double) anthropology/archaeology and biology
Why you think you were accepted:
Compared to some of the stats that got waitlisted, I'm not really sure.
BUT: Strong EC's (w/ leadership, recognition and such). Took the hardest possible set of courses my school offered, including the first person to take all five AP's (Studio Art and English Literature this year). I also visited twice and had an alumni interview.
Congrats to everyone that got in and double congrats to those who got money! I'm sure everyone on this thread gets in somewhere amazing and perfect for them!

| To scastar : oh you haven't received your result yet? No email? This is quite strange coz two girls in my class (we are also int' students ) got their result for like 2 weeks ago. Why don't you make a phone call over there and ask them :P
And adeoye : Don't worry too much abt the WL. I think if you keep showing them such interest, you can get in finally |

To the waitlisted--W&L's going to get a lot of accepted students who decide not to go, even if they showed a lot of interest. Make yours known and you'll probably end up there in the fall. |
