amu521 - I am not sure what you think is not true. The program was opened to all students in 2005. A good portion of the Scholars are now "non - diversity", so what is not true. Having someone in the program - I think I have a decent idea about the program, so I don't understand your post nor does it make a lot of sense.
One of the criteria for these two Scholars programs is how you, as a candidate you have helped or will help diversity or promote understanding between different groups on campus or different parts of society. So if you have done something along those lines - it will indeed be a positive on your application. But as far as being open and available to all students - I stand by my original post. If you have something specific to refute that, please let me know.
