When i had a chance to visit wustl i did notice that the kids were very social. Like any other college there are going to be frat parites and other social events. I dont think this school is more of a party school than any other. It's all what you want to do. If your thing is parties then you will definelty find what you want. On the other hand, if you are not a big partier, there are a lot of clubs and organizations you can join that have social events. In my opinion, I like the fact that at wustl i can do my own thing, study play, sports... but whenever i feel like relaxing i can always go to a party and have a good time. But there are definelty a ton to do at wuslt so if you dont like parties you will still be enjoying yourself.

When I went there for the weekend, stayed there 3 days, there were 2 big parties. People there seemed lively.

I'm wondering about this, too. I'm not a partier and I am worried that there won't be a ton of other things to do on campus.

Check out the multiple choice survey results for social life at CampusDirt.com (registration required).

WashU has a very active social life and extracurricular scene. On any given night, there's a variety of options for you to choose.

After checking out the (somewhat informative) CampusDirt opinions, check out the WUSTL student calendar:

https://spark.wustl.edu/

Go back a couple of months to see what's going on while classes are in session; not much happens in May except finals.

there's plenty to do besides partying. going to the city museum, movies, forest park (take a group if you go at night), the observatory, bowling, all the usual stuff that you'll find around most campuses. i didn't start going to parties regularly until sophomore year because there was enough to see and do for the first time as a freshman.

washu's a very social place, but "social" doesn't have to mean massive parties. the nice thing is that here, unlike some other top uni's, there actually IS an active party life if people want it. and it's fun, whatever you choose to do on a friday or saturday night.

bottom line, you'll never say, "I wish people did other stuff besides party." And you'll rarely say "I wish there was a good party this weekend," because there's almost always both.

st.louis is a decently happening city, there's so much to do if you don't just want to party. and as social as they say it is, I doubt it's like...overboard cause people do have to study too lol.
