plbro81,

No one "bashing" anything. I am, however, challenging questionable and sometimes misleading claims made by representatives of both schools. Research the posts in these and other forums and judge for yourself.

Wash U is one of the best, most appealing universities in the country

Not according the the Revealed Preferences rankings:

lol.

Please ignore interestingguy everyone. He's a troll, and he's wasting your time and earning a nice post-count doing it. For any parents or prospective students on this forum who have questions related to any of the "input" about WashU that interestingguy is giving, please feel free to make a separate thread on the subject, and you'll be much more likely to get responses from people who have experience with the school. Thanks, and (again) if this seems unfair take a look at interestingguy's posting history here: More Posts By...

the revealed preference rankings are not relevant any more. there have been 6 years of new applicants to colleges since the data was assembled.

WUSTL's RP ranking = #62

New "Revealed Preference" Ranking Released

Quote:
It's a very interesting list, with several schools in places you wouldn't have thought possible, e.g. Furman at 30, Michigan at 42, WUSTL at 62, Miami at 55, Colby at 71 and Hamilton at 94.
So unless WUSTL would've magically climbed 50 places since the RP rankings came out, WUSTL @ #12 is overrated (by US News).

Enough already!!! The only way to stop this troll is to stop responding to him and let this thread die. You are just feeding his desire to bash WashU and keeping this thread on top of the queue. Let this be the last posting on this thread!!

Interestingguy, I was waiting for you to bring this thread back to the top of the queue. You are so predictably obsessed. Your hatred of WashU and your preoccupation with bashing it only serves to discredit you. Let it go and focus on your future.

As FallenChemist so aptly stated in Post #113

Anyone following the Wash U board (or the Duke board) should be able to see that this InterestingGuy poster is only interested in playing games, not in making meaningful contributions to this community.

The best solution is to recognize the gamesmanship, sophistry, and swollen ego for what they are, ignore all of it, and concentrate instead on the valuable contributions posted by so many others. If you find yourself unable to do so, then you might find CC's automated "ignore" feature to your liking:

I kind of feel sorry for the loser. His rejection from Wash U. is causing him mental problems.
