SAT II's <- trust me its not a stupid question

I know they say that SAT II's are not required and are in fact "recommended". Knowing the college process though not submitting them is...detrimental for lack of a better word.

So I was just wondering, for WashU, since I'm applying ED (and I only have 1 SAT II which is Math IIc - 780) how many SAT II's do applicants usually send? 2? 3? maybe 1? *crosses fingers*

Also in your personal opinion, will not having an interview hurt me even though I DID visit?

Thanks in advance! <3

any college that requires SAT IIs requires you send two scores. I would think you should send two. As for interviewing, if you interview well, yes, it would help.

Most schools that require SAT Subject Tests require 2 tests. I don't know of any schools that require 1 Subject Test. So, I would expect that most people who take Subject Tests take 2 or more, and hence most people who submit Subject Test scores to WashU would send 2 or more scores.

However, given that WashU doesn't require Subject Tests, sending your one very good score can only be helpful. I would guess that a lot of people don't submit Subject Test scores to WashU at all, but don't know where those statistics are available.

I'm a freshman at Wash U and I didn't send my SAT II's. I did poorly on them and because they were "recommended" and not "required" I figured that sending bad ones was worse than sending none.

As for the interview, I think it would be helpful but it's definitely not essential. Their interview is very laid-back with a recent grad just to make sure you're a normal person who can hold an intelligent conversation.

I hope this helps : )

ChocoKitty, I have a question for you then and feel free to not answer since it's kind of private - How were your other stats like your GPA and SAT I?

I didn't take any SAT IIs and got in ED. It's not a necessity at all.

May i ask for your stats, too, srunni? Because my SAT I and GPA aren't that strong compared to others, I'm hopeful that my SAT II's will help me a bit.

Thanks in advance!
