Is that necessary? Can't you just use the utensils in the cafeteria and the restaurants? Where will you wash them if you bring your own? The bathroom sink?

haha ooooh washing dishes in the bathroom sinks is *fun*. Well ok it's really not so bad, just don't plan on washing anything big... but I did it a ton. Honestly most guys ate out of the to-go containers with the plastic utensils that everyone stole in handfuls from BearsDen. That and lots and lots of napkins, heh. Stuff like cups/plates you can't really stock up on though...

I found it useful to have a set of utensils, a plate or two, and a couple cups/mugs around, they came in pretty handy for stuff like coffee/tea, cereal, leftovers, stuff you bring back from BearsDen, etc. Lots of girls had these cute matching sets and waaay too much, and guys brought little, if anything at all. Somewhere in the middle is obviously the best There are kitchens in the dorms (or in your dorm's ResCollege) that have pots/pans/baking stuff, so for any real cooking you'd want to do, there's stuff available. Then again... they're community dishes... and the kitchens are for "warming purposes only" (yeah RIGHT). There's really no need to do any real cooking freshman year anyway though.

There is always somebody on the floor or on South 40 with something you need especially things like rice cookers. Most people really rarely say no to you borrowing stuff. But anyways.

Most small things like staplers, notebooks, school supplies etc youll find yourself better off buying when you get to school. If you don't have your parents or you guys dont rent a car when you come here there is always the school shuttle which will drag you to Target and back ever 30 minutes. Not to mention the Galleria (Crate and Barrel is right across the street from this one).

Utensils. - Honestly most people reallllllly just take the black plastic utensils from Bear's Den (the cafeteria) and the braver jack the black paper plates when the cooks are faced the other way. They even have soup cups you can jack and they give out free mugs to Freshies at the begiinging of the year. If your desperate for a set of matching plates and utensils by all means go ahead, but youll find yourself hardly ever using it because 1) if you think your going to cook - guess again because I remember VERY few people actually cooked (cookies maybe a couple of times), but cooking actual meals? =D No. After all most cooks to be end up in the rut of being caught cooking meals so they feel obligated to cook for other people too which becomes rather hard when you end up cooking for 10 friends.

Things like rice cookers, things youll probably use only a few times I recommend just borrowing from those who do end up bringing them which I can almost gaurentee will happen.

Honestly you really don't need much and most people tend to bring to much and end up never using most of their stuff and end up lugging it back home during summer. So just bring things you know you use almost everyday and things you just cant function without. Besides if you really are hankering for a rice cooker, you could always just do it the old way which is cooking it over the stove in a pan. Hey the old expensive japanese restaraunts do it so why not u? ahah anyways good luck

Shower Caddy, Flashlight, TV, storage boxes, my BRAIN (of course), fruit snaks, lots of water, lots of money, alarm clock, noodles, candy, paper plates, napkins, HOT CHOCOLATE IS A MUST!!!, lots of posters, pillows, school supplies, laptop, stereo, hangers, umbrella..Bucknell gave a whole list
