=d Help

how much do colleges consider..if you write like about family problems that you had that really affected your grades..but if you gave recommendation letters showing that your grades came up because you learned from ur experiences...could that help?
my grades really suffered..i had straight A's and i went down to b's and c's..however ive become so much more stronger as a person and this summer ive really proven my talent...i work with medical students [ resident students ] and providing diagnosis as practice... i have so many " hooks " but im worried that my bad grades might kill my chances ..i already have my essay set up..and it explains how ive learned to overcome obstacles even tho my grades took quite a drop..

will I be ok? i really wanna get into a top 20 school..
my sats + sat ii's are awesome / i have amazing extra currics..and about 8 leadership positions/ i founded an organization / i do marketing and i skipped a grade...

I think rising grades are always good! Your Sats scores are excellent!
Maybe the moral of your story/essay is that personal failures can spur one to grow and make choices-in your case, better grades...Goodluck!
I think you have a chance at Wash U....

Hooks are good...I personally believe that WashU consider hooks to be more interesting than high ranks and good grades. All the people with high grades tend to be put on the waitlist (aka the delayed rejection list)
