New to this FORUM (question on ethnicity)

Hi I'm just questioning what I should put down on the ethnicicty part of the WASH U supplement and common app. My father is Italian so that makes me part white. HOwever, both my mother's parents were born in Syria. (she was born in USA tho) What would I put down and where would i put it under. Other or ASia and then country of origin? Or just white? I htink I would have a better shot at a college if I put some sort of minority even tho that sounds horrible.

Im applying ED 1, ive visited campus, ive interviewed, and ive shown more interest by emialing admissions several times. Do you think these things will help me? My class rank is good 13 out of 263 and my GPA is going to be about 4.2. My SAT is going to be my weakest point. MAth and Verbal only 1330. Good Ec's and Good essay + teacher recc.

jtslick,
You might get more answers regarding your minority status if you ask the question other the College Admissions forum - this particular forum is not as active as that one.

jt,
I don't know the answer or else I would help. I never answer "what are my chances" questions - I think very few here are qualified to answer those.
