Yeah, wustl premed is really good, I know a couple kids that are in it right now. The medical school is one of the best in the nation at wustl. I don't know the rate of students that get into med school, but I'm sure it's high, they prepare you well.

Wash U's med school used to be number 2 right behind Harvard - back in the day when Wash U climbed into the top 10. Now I believe it is third or maybe tied with Johns Hopkins for 2.

I also think I remember reading that Wash U med students have the highest MCAT (not sure of the name) scores of any medical school. You can find exact stats in USNews college rankings.

Premed is great, but it's very hard, so many drop out.

WUSTL is currently tied with John's Hopkins University for the #2 and 3 Medical schools in the nation by USNews.

Their premed is one of their most difficult course plans. You will grow into a love/hate relationship with biology and chemistry.

Ringmn is right. You're freshman year will seem like everyone on the campus is in Pre-Med. WUSTL has so many other wonderful departments that are completely shadowed by this Titan of Medicine.

lizschup, Studyhard: WUSTL School of the Medicine has the highest MCAT and GPA cutoff (3.7-3.8 and 36 respectively, I believe) of any medical school in the nation. Several of the people rejected from the School of Medicine are capable of full rides to any of several other medical schools.

=)

premed is extremely competative because the classes are extremely difficult and so many of the students have that as their goal. the program is amazing, but they weed people out pretty quickly.

that can't be right about only 2 undergrads getting into WUSM - I know two people from just my major (bme) that were accepted and are attending... obviously there are some from the 'typical' premed majors too... The number is rumored to be low, but that's excessive...
