JHU or WUSTL

I am planning on doing eraly decision to one of these colleges and i have a lot of doubts as to where to go. I want to do BME and i know that JHU is number one for that, but then again, WUSTL is also ranked top in that. It is easier to get acceptance to both schools with ED rather than RD. But JHU's main is BME meaning it would be alot harder to get acceptance with ED, and i am pretty sure that if i get denied ED from JHU, i'll get denied for RD. For WUSTL, there isnt as much competion for BME so there would be more chances of being accepted. I am planning to go to med school after BME and i also think that being from JHU would probably get me into a better med school because its really well know. I still think that i would be able to get into a good med school if i go to WUSTL, and that WUSTL is ranked above JHU in usnews. JHU and WUSTL are probably my top reaches so far. In short, i like both schools a lot but i want to do JHU BME but if i get rejcted ED, i fear that i wont be able to get in there RD or in WUSTL RD because the acceptance rates are lower..........but if i get into WUSTL ED, then i fear i may be held back from a top notch med school.

so does anyone know any nice insights on WUSTL that might make me like the school even more and feel it is completely worth it if i get accepted ED and make me glad i chose it over JHU.

i think being at either school where you have the ability to work with a top med school (jhu 2, washu 3) will give you amazing opportunities, so i wouldn't choose jhu over washu for the -getting into med school- reasons. most med schools would know washu, considering their high ranking...

with that said... you're going to be spending 4 years in the bme department... so you should look at the differences in how they work... types of courses, opportunities for research as an undergrad, independant projects, class sizes, number of electives, etc... along with non-academic differences in the schools (which you can learn easily from a visit).

Ed I + Ed Ii

Since Wash U has ED II, you can play your ED card twice, by applying EDI to JHU and, if deferred or denied, ED II to Wash U.

Wash U ED II notification is unusually early, btw--January 15.
