chances, so far....

I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I was wondering what my chances are so far for Wellesley, Vassar, Colgate University, Lehigh, James Madison, and College of William and Mary!

GPA (uw):3.73 ( this is the GPA I will graduate with in two years if I get a 4.0 from now on.)

In-school activities:
French Club (President)
Amnesty International
Tech Crew (Props Director)
Track and Field Team
Golf Team
Mock Trial
Dance Company

Extra Curricular:
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern classes: 9 years
Piano Lessons: 7 years
Graphic Designer: 5 years

Work Experience:
Graphic Designer for over 20 clients over the last 5 years.
Assistant for a psychologist—1 year (should be three by the time I apply for college)

Volunteerism:
Volunteered at local senior center(I plan to do more, don’t worry)

I have a portfolio for graphic design that dates back 2 years, which I will probably include if they allow it. Intended major: International Relations, minor: dance or anthropology. Be totally honest, and if you have any college recommendation please suggest them! I'd love to look into it.

Well it's a little early to judge. I think your extras sound quite good and interesting, especially the graphic design and assistant to psychologist (depending on what you do, I suppose). Dance and piano also sound good, although a bit more typical. Be careful not to overextend yourself on extras--you already have a few with what looks like really good involvement, so I'm not sure as to the marginal value of those like Golf or Mock Trial (besides personal enjoyment, which is nothing to sniff at, of course), especially as they take time away from academics. Reading between the lines a bit, it seems that your current GPA is probably quite a bit lower than 3.73--low 3's, I'm guessing? Your competitiveness will depend on your ability to follow through with those straight A's--it's one thing to say you will, it's another thing to actually do it. I'm not saying you won't--I had an upward grade trend and moved from being ranked 55th in my class to being ranked 14th in my class over the course of my high school career--but I'm just pointing out that it is far from guaranteed. I say keep on track with your main extras, maybe re-balance a bit to give more attention toward academics, and when the time comes shoot for 700's on your SATs (so 2100 total).
