Does Wellesley request/require first semester senior grades? (EE)

Hi, I have a 3.72 GPA and a 4.3 WGPA-- those are the numbers (freshman year through junior year) listed on our transcript that is actually sent out. EE deadline is about a week before our first semester actually ends.

Because I've been doing so much stuff with college apps, some of my grades have really slipped first marking period (low Bs and such).

How bad does this look, and will it affect my admissions?

At least when I applied (3 years ago now, obviously), Wellesley did require first semester senior year grades for EE. I'm not quite sure mine got there on time (our semester officially ended on Jan. 21, and I know they weren't sent out to Wellesley until the first week of Feb, and I got my EE likely only a few weeks later), but I know that they were asked for. So, not that low B's are so awful (if you were getting Cs or worse, I would definitely think that was bad), but it does seem less than ideal to have slipped on your grades. The semester is hardly over, though, so focus on improving your grades at least to solid B's or B+s (even if your school does not count pluses and minuses in your GPA (mine didn't), the better grade will show up on your transcript). Basically, don't despair, but don't give up on your grades either!

My HS semester did not end until the end of January/early February. Send your grades in when they're ready. The admissions office knows high schools are on different schedules.

And don't let your grades slip first semester! That can potentially make or break an application in some cases. Try the best as you can and don't let senioritis get to you this early in the year.

Hey!!

Thanks for both of your replies.

One of the reasons my grades are so low though, is because im taking 5 APs this year :/

would that change the situation at all? in colleg admin's eyes?

they'll factor in your courseload, but a drop in your grades (of any amount) will be factored in as well.
