USA Today Article

In case you haven't heard it by now (a shout to all the prospies out there), Wesleyan is by far the smallest, non-conservatory affiliated, American college with its own internationally recognized music scene: Student and alumni musicians bring 'Wesleyan Wave' to the national scene | USA TODAY College [props to _Wesleying_ for the scoop]

Very cool recognition for Wes. It's quite possibly the best non-conservatory experience going. The academic programs and Eclectic Society are appealing to musicians of all levels -- partly because they are drawn by an environment that will draw other musicians who find that kind of serious-yet-non-traditional environment to be attractive. It's no wonder that these collaborations happen and that it's now feeding on itself. For people who seek out that kind of vibe, it beats a conservatory experience.

Love it...my son is a current junior at Wes and is a prominent participant in the Wes music "scene"; in fact, he is criticized (fondly I hope) as "being in every band on campus"

For those who missed it, there was a nice write-up of Santi White, aka Santigold, in the arts section of last weekend's NYTimes: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/29/ar...new-album.html

A review of her new album, "Master of My Make Believe" is here: Review: ‘Master of My Make-Believe,’ by Santigold - The Washington Post
