My question for you is why didn't you retake Chem Honors instead of retaking it as regular Chem? If you had retaken it as Chem Honors, the higher grade will replace your lower grade and be counted, and to improve your GPA.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't think the UC's count honors weighted. Personally, my school only counts AP's as weighted but I know a school district near me counts honors as weighted, subsequently the students there have higher GPA's but when applying to college, they all have to take the weight of the honors off in order to calculate their UC GPA. , so the biology honors wouldn't be weighted.

That being said, I think you have a decent chance of getting into those schools...GOOD LUCK

UC and CSU count up to 8 semesters of honors courses in 10th and 11th grades with C or higher grades with +1 weighting.

University of California Doorways Home can help find what courses are considered "honors" at your California high school.

SAT? See if you fall into ELC?
University of California - Statewide path I think you need to have a UC gpa close to 4.0 but if you have good SAT scores and you are first generation and have had other hardships, those will be a factor as well. I would think uci/ucd are mid-reach for you at this point. Write a great essay!

You said you were working Hai sun Restaurant (9th,10th 11th,12th). Did you need to work to make ends meet? how many hours /week? make sure you expand on this. UC will weigh you differently from say another applicant who has had everything given to them.
