Yeah, you have gotten into two fine schools already so don't think that everything is over if you son't get into the other three. Too have a shot at any of the 3, however, you will definitely need to bring up that score. I think you can do it. 100 points is no big deal, believe me. If you work hard you can even bring it up 200-300 points which would give you a great shot. I have seen that improvement. Get on your grind, thats all I can say. Now is make or break time. Good Luck!

Your GC is NOT blowing smoke. I saw (for Princeton) 11 kids apply, 7 deferred, 2 rejected, 2 in. One is legacy (ugh) the other is URM. Qualified, but def. not more (and almost certainly in fact less) than at least 2 or 3 of the 7 deferred. It makes a difference.

Thank you both! I am retaking the SATs on saturday.. I'd really like a score above 2100 but we'll see what happens.

My U-M situation is kinda of similar - I'm a times 3 legacy with a 3.9 UW GPA but an 1880 on the SAT in one sitting so I am taking the ACT (unfortunately). What are your extracurriculars like?

Nothing thats really special (a good amount of clubs and volunteer hours) started a summer camp for kids, etc. Did some hospital volunteering, NHS. I think my research experience is the most impressive part of my app.

Anyways, lets say I kick my writing up to about a 650-700, what are my chances?

Kick everything above 700. Then you have a good shot.
And yeah, the bio thing is really contradictory.
Honestly, there are tons of URMs out there that have way better stats than you... But good luck.

Thank you for the honesty. I am hoping my AP Bio (A+) grade makes up for my crappy sat ii score. Keep them coming! I'll chance back as well.

You should really look into St. John's Pharmacy program. It's actually very well known and respected.

Welp, just trying to recruit for my possible future school.

@onetepublic4 Haha oh relevance at it's finest. But yeah, it's a solid program. St. John's is up and coming. It sure as hell better be with what it costs these days.

You listed "recruited athlete" as a hook. You should have contacted the coaches at the schools you're looking at, especially at Harvard and Brown, your reaches. It may not be too late, though, so if you're reasonably good at your sport, get in touch with those coaches asap. Athletics can open doors that are closed to the rest of the applicants. Good luck!
